Help us help others:

The MH Quality Manager is responsible for reviewing and auditing all MH services to identify trends and opportunities for improvement throughout the organization. The programs that the MH Quality Manager is responsible for include Adult Mental Health, Children’s Mental Health, TCOOMMI, and the Crisis Stabilization Unit. There is an expectation that a minimum number of charts be audited on a weekly basis to ensure that all programs are reviewed quarterly, and feedback is provided for training and supervision purposes. The MH Quality Manager must be detail oriented and person centered, they must be organized, self-motivated, and able to communicate effectively with supervisors and staff in the field.

You will get to:

  • Provide weekly and/or quarterly reports of findings to the QM/Utilization Manager (UM) Director and appropriate supervisors.
  • Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) projects with program directors and the QM/UM Department
  • Utilizing chart audits, provide meaningful support and direction to front line staff, directors, and trainers for the Behavioral Health Department
  • Exercise independent judgement and schedule work to meet the demands of the position.
  • Organize and schedule the Death Review Committee at least quarterly.
  • Assist in preparing for audits at all levels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


You’ll definitely need:

  • Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a major or hour equivalency in the following field: major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a Mental Health field and qualify as a QMHP.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in the Mental Health field and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • A valid Texas State Driver’s License
  • Current automobile insurance
  • Preferred, a master’s degree in applicable field.
  • Preferred, 5 years of experience providing Mental Health services and at least 1 year experience providing Quality Management.

We’ll also want you to:

  • Employ excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage and report effectively.
  • Capture contractual reportable fields previously identified.
  • Audit Behavioral Health related programs including but not limited to Supported Housing, MCOT, Peer Support, TCOOMI, Therapy services, YES Waiver and CSU
  • Provides weekly reports that identify trends in services and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provides quarterly reports and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement Projects as part of the quarterly QM meeting.
  • Maintains records concerning death reviews and ensures timely reporting to the state.
  • Acts as the point person in organizing, preparing, and during all external audits of MH programs.
  • Maintains and adjusts the audit tools to reflect all levels of regulations and contractual standards.
  • Maintains a person centered and trauma informed approach throughout the audit process.
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy, ability to follow instructions, ability to work independently.
  • Work cooperatively with others and be punctual and consistent in attendance because your people will rely on you.
